Monthly giveaway rules

The short version: one $100 gift card each month, free to enter, one entry per business on the card plus one bonus entry, Ontario residents 18 and over, and the winner answers a skill-testing question. The full rules are below.

1. Who runs it

The Fridge Card, run by WITH ARIS, Toronto, Ontario ("we"). Mailing address: 58 Phoebe St, Toronto, Ontario. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Dates

Each calendar month is a separate giveaway. Entries for a month close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of that month.

3. Who can enter

Residents of Ontario who are 18 or older. Employees of the businesses on that month's card, and the people they live with, cannot enter that month.

4. How to enter

Scan a QR code on The Fridge Card, or visit any advertiser page on thefridgecard.com, and submit your email address in the giveaway form. No purchase is necessary, and entering does not require you to buy anything from any business. You get one entry for each business on that month's card. Entering again from the same business's page in the same month does not add another entry. A person can have as many entries as there are businesses on the card.

Bonus entry: each month's card lists three jobs with tick boxes. After you have ticked all three, scan the "Bonus entry" code on the card, or visit thefridgecard.com/bonus.html, and submit your email address to get one extra entry for that month. We cannot check the ticks, so the bonus entry works on your word. It is limited to one bonus entry per person per month, and no purchase is necessary.

5. The prize

One prize each month: a $100 gift card to a business featured on that month's card, chosen by us. Approximate retail value: $100 CAD. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash.

6. The draw and your odds

We draw one winner at random from all eligible entries for the month, within 7 days after entries close. Your odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received that month.

7. Winning

We contact the selected entrant by email. To claim the prize, they must reply within 7 days and correctly answer, without help, a mathematical skill-testing question. If they don't reply, don't qualify, or answer incorrectly, we draw another eligible entry.

8. Your email

We use your email to run the draw and to contact you if you win. We only send you The Fridge Card's monthly email if you ticked that box, and you can unsubscribe from it at any time. We don't sell or share your email. We won't publish a winner's name without their permission. If the winner agrees, we print their first name and street on the next month's card.

9. General

We may cancel or change a month's giveaway if something outside our control affects it, such as fraud or a technical failure, subject to the law. These rules are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
